Bog Coats

Bring your old blankets and make a bog coat. Just bring an old army blanket or wool and you will be able to make it into a coat. Instructor will supply needles and thread. Please bring scissors. Please pre-register for this class due to limited space.

Basic Lucet

This is a great beginners' class if you want to learn how to lucet. This class will teach you the basic pattern and how to weave it. Bring your lucet and enjoy. Please pre-register for this class due to limited space.

Beginning Art Class

This is a beginners' art class that will go over many topics. Figure drawing, shapes, and proportions. Also calligraphy, watercolor painting, plenty of pictures to color, devices and badge design and leather favor painting. All materials are provided.

Target Archery Marshal (TAM) Class
Sat. Jul-30 11:00am, 2 hours; (cost $2); min 2, max 30
This class is highly recommended to all archers who have had some time in the field and would like to further their knowledge of archery. Class will cover equipment, range safety, set up and all the fundamentals of archery. This will start out as a sit down class for the 2 hours and then proceed to the archery range and test their knowledge. It is required that all students have an average background in archery (have had a good amount of time on the archery field and know all rules). Students should bring chairs and archery equipment.

Advanced Lucet
Sat. Jul-30 11:00am, 1 hour; (cost $1, only if you need yarn); min 2, max 8
This class is for anyone who knows how to use the lucet and wants new ideas. You will learn new patterns and techniques in this class. Please bring your own lucet and two or three colors of the same yarn: one light, one dark, and another that looks good with the others. Size 3 pearl cotton is a good choice; the small skeins available at the fabric stores are sufficient. Space is limited, please pre-register. Instructor also advises that if you have the book Lucet Braiding by Elaine Fuller (spiral bound with blue cover), please bring it. This is NOT required.

Making the Lund

Learn how to make the early period 3 legged seat. You will learn how to make a seat and if you would like, make a real one for yourself. The teacher will have all the tools you will need and it will only cost $10 per person. Please pre-register for this class, space is limited. Please bring cash only. No checks accepted.

Period Dancing

Please come join in on the fun of learning how to dance! This is a great opportunity to get all of your practice in. You will learn basic steps used in most period dances, so bring your partner or just borrow one and come join in the fun.

Are Horses Period?

This class is an overview of equestrian activities in the SCA: how you can play with horses in the SCA, the role of horses in the middle ages, and where you can go to learn more. For this class, you only need a chair, notebook, and pen.

Oak Covered Book Binding
Sat. Jul-30 noon, 4 hours; (cost $10/cash only); min 2, max 6
Here is a chance to learn how to make and cover a book. This class is kinda long, but is well worth it! Students will make a book, fold, score, sew pages, cover with oak wood covers, and use leather strips for the binding edges. Please pre-register for this class.

Celtic Knotwork

This is a fun class that teaches how to make the beautiful Celtic knots. Students should bring pencil, paper, and a ruler.

Arrow Making
