Bardic Activities

Minstrels, tune your strings and warm your pipes! Earn peanuts from adoring fans…

There will be a Wandering Minstrels contest throughout the event. Everyone will receive peanuts at the gate that they can award to performers that please them throughout the event until final court on Sunday. You can earn peanuts singing/playing/acting/reciting/dancing/juggling. Whoever presents the most peanuts before final court on Sunday gets a prize.

In addition, there will be hosted bardic fires – both for soliciting peanuts from crowds of adoring fans and for the general merriment of all both Friday and Saturday nights, including a sunset bardic for the small ones on Saturday evening. For information on the location and times, see the reader board at Bardic Point.

Interested in performing during the day? Come to Bardic Point and take a turn delighting shoppers with your dulcet voice or wander merchant row to encourage shoppers to dally and peruse merchandise.

Lastly, we are also delighted to announce a special showing of the dramatic play, Misconceptions, An Elizabethan Serial by Bryan C. LaPorte (Fionn the Unfortunate):

"Adelaide is a young woman in Elizabethan England: Not a good combination if she wants to be an actor. When Thomas catches her red-handed rehearsing alone in his empty theater, she does the only sensible thing and pretends to be a boy…playing a girl. A good plan until she and Thomas accidentally fall for one another. Throw in a kindly, meddling widow (who happens to be Thomas' sister) and the ghost of her late husband Richard, and… Well, you can imagine."

Attention all Musicians from far & near

If you have ever wanted to play and play and play music - here is your chance with a great audience! We are in need for a group or groups to play at different times throughout Saturday. One time is during our Feast, for light background music. Another is during the Saturday Evening Dance. To prep for the dance, we would like to hold dance classes and would love to have live music there as well.

Or if you just want to play casually during the day on Saturday & Sunday, please stop by and check out our Bards' Point. It is a great way to get a chance to talk and play with other musicians (from novice to experienced) and also chat with other people throughout the Kingdom!

If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Lord Tristan Fiddler, Music Coordinator, louielewie@netzero.net.
