Benjamin died of apploplexy and left no will. In the settlement of his estate nearly all of his children are named. Hannah Jewett is the mother of his first 10 children. Isabel Wood is the mother of the other 8 children. Isabel Wood and Eleanor Wood who married Benjamin's nephew John were sisters. 145
