Edgar Martinez, computer geek?

Asked for something about Edgar the world might not know, Wilson thought for a moment and then beamed — “He’s an internet junkie!”

Edgar likes computers. John Olerud likes to eat. Dan Wilson likes music trivia. The things we didn’t know about the M’s…

Watch what reading material you bring with you on your next flight. It just might keep you grounded.

I played in a fantasy baseball league for the first time this season — and I won the league! (My team is the Litldevls.) Dumb beginner’s luck, really — and the fact that I grabbed Ichiro, who was a free agent after the draft. I would say that Ichiro was definitely the MVP of my fantasy team.

I still don’t really believe it. It’s as if God decided to make up all those lousy seasons of bad baseball in a crappy stadium. I mean, think about it — in 1995, the M’s had one of the greatest comebacks in history. And this year, they may just be the greatest team ever. When baseball in Seattle is good, it’s improbably, unbelievably good. Pinch me.

Is nothing sacred? I really hope no one is taking this “naming rights for ferries” idea seriously. I don’t really mind advertising on the boats, but naming them after sponsors — that makes me nauseous.

This is perhaps my favorite recent eBay auction. I suppose eBay probably pulled it, but, hey — if someone really wants to bid on this, why not let ‘em do it?
