More baseball: Why Edgar Martinez deserves to be in the Hall of Fame (someday, anyway. Not that he needs to retire anytime soon).
Griffey’s Battling Demons in Cincinnati, says the San Francisco Chronicle. Apparently he’s being sullen with reporters, batting .232, and displaying “a constant and alarming lack of hustle on the bases… It has come as a shock to hard-core Reds fans who expected a bit more from the returning hometown hero. ” Hey, Reds fans? We could have warned ya about that.
Everybody’s posting this Courtney Love article. But, dammit, she’s right. Everyone I’ve ever known who signed to a major label got screwed in the end. The music industry is corrupt and evil, and musicians and fans deserve better.
The new Greenwood Library will replace a McDonald’s. The site selection process in Greenwood seems to have been much shorter and less trouble than the process up here on Beacon Hill. I liked the McDonald’s site myself, so I think they made a good choice with that one. Here on the Hill, we are still waiting for the Library to make a deal with Wells Fargo so they can start building the new library, one block away from us. I hope they get it built soon, but no matter how long it takes, I’ll just be happy that they didn’t tear our house down to build it!
