I usually try not to just link to things that everyone else is linking to, but this one is just too cool: visual daily headlines. (Thanks to kottke.org.)

Memories of old supermarkets, via Miscmedia. Up here in the Northwest, we had a lot of these old Safeways. There are even a few of the older ones still operating, as far as I know. When I was little, there were also Lucky, A&P, and Tradewell, all of which are long-gone (from the PNW, anyway). QFC and Fred Meyer remain, though they’re now part of the Kroger empire. There’s still a little bit of old Seattle to be found at the QFC site: the Holman Road QFC (the former Art’s) has a Boat Supply Department to provide provisions to fishing fleets and isolated coastal villages.

It’s almost Opening Day, folks….

Speaking of Wonka, the guy who played Mike Teevee has a web page.

So, who would you cast as Willy Wonka in the upcoming movie remake?

Sorry, I haven’t had time to post much here. I’ve been busy getting the Rubber Trouble Rubber Stamps sales site redesign online. It’s taken all week so far, but it’s finally up. If anything else is happening in the world, I haven’t had time to notice.
